This rustic chessboard was made of recycled wood from a 150 year old cotton warehouse. The frame and dark squares are where the wood was weathered over the years. The light squares are where the wood was ripped and planed. The back of the dark squares are light and vice versa. All beetle holes, carpenter bee holes, termite damage, splits and rusty nail holes were carefully placed to enhance the rustic nature of the piece. In keeping with the old look, the tiles are not all level and not precicely aligned.
